Online (Zoom)

On Tuesday 21st October, the first in a two-part webinar series on “Discovering Outcomes-Based Financing in Early Childhood Care and Education” was organized by the Collective Learning Initiative (CLI). The Webinar, which recorded close to 200 participants, provided opportunity for participants to engage the discussants on lessons emerging from global efforts to strengthen early childhood care and education (ECCE) through outcomes-based financing (OBF).

During the session, Mara Airoldi from the Government Outcomes Lab introduced the concept of OBF and its relevance for ECCE. Adriana Balducci from the Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) shared insights from upcoming OBF programmes in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and South Africa. Siegrid Holler from Instiglio discussed lessons from Bogotá’s results-based financing initiative, and Claudia Lennon from 54 Reasons presented Play2Learn+, an innovative outcomes-based programme supporting children and families in Tasmania.

Commissioned by the EOF, the CLI on Outcomes-Based Financing for Early Childhood Care and Education (OBF4ECCE) is led by a consortium of partners, including the Government Outcomes Lab and NORRAG.
