Apply now for KIX EMAP Learning Cycles 8 & 9

***The application deadline is extended to 1 February 2026, 11:59 PM (CET/Geneva).***

The KIX EMAP Hub has opened applications for two new Learning Cycles. Applications are due by 1 February 2026, 11:59 PM (CET/Geneva). The courses will both begin in February 2026.

An information session was held on 15 January 2026. During the session, the KIX EMAP Hub team detailed the application process, and the instructors gave a comprehensive presentation of what each course will offer.

These Learning Cycles will be offered in English. If needed, the KIX EMAP Hub can provide interpretation into Russian and Arabic. If you need a copy of either flyer in Russian or Arabic, please contact the KIX EMAP Hub at norrag.kix@graduateinstitute.ch.

There are no course fees as the course is funded by the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX) Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Asia and Pacific (EMAP) Hub.

 

Learning Cycle 8: Education and Climate Change

Applications due: 1 February 2026, 11:59 PM (CET/Geneva)
Duration: 9 February – 29 June 2026

Grounded in principles that place educators at the center of climate-resilient education systems, the Learning Cycle focuses on one main policy priority: enabling teachers to provide high-quality and contextually relevant climate change education in a variety of contexts, balancing examples such as curricular reforms, national initiatives of teachers’ professional development on climate education, and delivering climate education in contexts where schools and learners experience climate impacts. This Learning Cycle will strengthen national teams’ capacity to design and advance policies that support educators in delivering quality climate change education, using equitable approaches informed by climate risks and climate science.

During this course, participants will work in country teams to develop a knowledge product.

 

 

Learning Cycle 9: AI and Education

Applications due: 1 February 2026, 11:59 PM (CET/Geneva)
Duration: 16 February – 31 May 2026

This Learning Cycle focuses on the implications of current and emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies on practice, curriculum, policy and governance in education, with an emphasis on the challenges and opportunities brought about by the rapid changes taking place in response to AI. The Learning Cycle will equip course participants to understand the promises and realities of AI in education and position themselves to influence and intervene in AI futures.

During this course, participants will work in country teams to develop a knowledge product.
