Key Insights on Education for Planetary Futures

NORRAG is proud to partner with Education for Planetary Futures, Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, and UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES to develop the launch of Key Insights on Education for Planetary Futures.

About Key Insights on Education for Planetary Futures

Education shapes how we understand the world, relate to one another, and imagine what comes next. As planetary conditions change, the challenge is not simply to add new knowledge to existing systems. It is to reconsider what—and whom—education is for.

Key Insights on Education for Planetary Futures looks for consequential shifts already taking shape across education. Rather than setting goals or prescribing a destination, ten interconnected insights bring what is emerging into view and ask what it might make possible. Together, the ten insights trace four movements: questioning inherited paradigms, deepening relational foundations, strengthening collective agency, transforming systems of learning.

Key Insights emerged through an open global survey and successive rounds of dialogue, interpretation, writing, and review across regions, disciplines, and knowledge traditions. These insights are provisional by design, and each revision dialogue offers a collective reading of what is shifting, what is becoming possible, and what we may not yet be seeing.

Key Insights is a joint initiative of Arizona State University and the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition. At ASU, it is housed within the Education for Planetary Futures Collaborative—one of the Learning Futures Collaboratives at Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation —and the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory.
