NORRAG’s exhibition on the importance of education in achieving the SDGs was launched in July in Geneva. In September, we began the exhibition’s world tour with a visit to UKFIET in Oxford, followed by at New York during UNGA week.

On September 22, the exhibition was available to hundreds of attendees joined the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Columbia Climate School, Global Schools Program, and SDGs Today for the hybrid event, “Education for Peace and Planet: From Histories to Futures.” This event also lanched the Ages of Globalization, an interactive, multidisciplinary and free open access course that navigates the journey of human history through seven ages. The keynote address by Professor Jeffrey Sachs emphasized the vital role of education in solving today’s global challenges. Moira V. Faul, NORRAG’s Executive Director, also gave a presentation on the importance of understanding the complexity of interlinkages between the SDGs if we are to design and implement effective sustainability solutions.

On September 23, we brought the exhibition to the inaugural Education House in the margins of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Education House was envisioned as a collaborative hub for education actors to advance progress towards the SDGs, positioning education—and the multitude of voices within it—as a key driver of sustainable development, particularly in spaces where education has not been a priority despite its fundamental role in shaping a better future. Nearly 700 people from 40 organizations walked through the exhibition over 14 hours.
