DHIS2 Annual Conference 2025

Date: 10 – 13 June 2025
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Geneva/CEST)
Location: Hybrid; University of Oslo, Norway and Online (Zoom)

The Health Information Systems Program (HISP) of the University of Oslo (a KIX research grantee) and the KIX EMAP Hub invite you to attend the DHIS2 Annual Conference 2025.

The DHIS2 Annual Conference brings together District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) implementers, developers, ministry representatives, technical partners, donors, and other DHIS2 experts from around the world to share experiences, learn about the latest developments and innovations, and make connections that can lead to new partnerships and collaborations.

During four days of presentations, technical demonstrations, interactive discussions, and networking sessions, you’ll discover how District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) is leveraged for data-driven solutions responding to some of the most pressing challenges in health, education, climate impacts, logistics, and beyond.

The KIX EMAP Hub will support the online streaming of the following education-focused sessions:

10 June 2025

  • EMIS: Leveraging DHIS2 for Education
      • Time: 1:20 – 2:20 PM (Geneva/CEST)
      • Description: DHIS2 for Education offers a uniquely compelling solution for Ministries of Education and their development partners, combining technology expertise with long-term cost efficiency and national ownership. This session will be dedicated to hearing how ministries and partners are leveraging DHIS2 and adapting to local contexts to strengthen EMIS platforms in low-and middle-income countries.
  • Lightning talks: Innovative uses of DHIS2 in education settings
    • Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM (Geneva/CEST)
    • Description: This session will highlight innovative uses of DHIS2 for improving education data systems and addressing the needs of out-of-school children in low resource settings. Educate A Child, in partnership with Rwanda and The Gambia, demonstrates how integrating DHIS2 with national education and health systems enables the identification, enrollment and retention of marginalized children and youth. The Aga Khan Foundation’s work in Uganda’s West Nile region showcases the transition from fragmented, paper-based or basic data collection tools to a comprehensive DHIS2-based EMIS.
