KIX EMAP Countries

KIX Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Asia and Pacific (EMAP) Hub comprises 37 GPE partner countries. The region covers not only a vast territory, different time zones and a multitude of languages, but also a wide range of countries with diverse trajectories in terms of educational development.

In order to ensure targeted and responsive support, the KIX EMAP Hub is divided into four sub-regions.

  • Europe and Central Asia (ECA): Albania, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
  • South Asia, Middle East and North Africa (SAMENA): Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Yemen
  • Southeast Asia (SEA): Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Vietnam
  • Pacific (PAC): Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu

Each country’s Ministry of Education, together with the Local Education Group (LEG), has the opportunity to nominate its KIX EMAP national team infrastructure, composed of the KIX EMAP National Steering Committee (NSC) and the KIX EMAP National Coordinator (NC).

National teams are central to the KIX EMAP Hub’s operations and shape the Hub’s agenda by conveying national education priorities and identifying shared policy challenges across the EMAP region. It is within this framework that Hub activities are conducted.

A country’s participation in the KIX EMAP Hub is entirely voluntary and the nomination of representatives is a nationally-led process. The overview of the roles and responsibilities of the KIX National Coordinator and National Steering Committee can be found here:
